BATTLING
MONSTERS

Not a recovery program. A daily management program. Built on real lived experience — prison, meth, solitary confinement, and the daily battle to stay human.

The Origin

Built From the Inside Out

Battling Monsters didn't come from a research paper or a grant proposal. It came from a man who spent roughly 25% of his life in the criminal justice system — including 4 years in federal prison and 6 months in solitary confinement — and figured out how to survive one day at a time.

Jamie Leibert wasn't looking for a recovery program. He was looking for a way to get through the day without losing everything he'd rebuilt. What he found was a framework. What he built was a mission.

Battling Monsters is the result: a daily management approach to PTSD, meth addiction recovery, post-incarceration trauma, and the relentless work of staying human when the system has done everything it can to make you forget how.

The Reality
Meth addiction. 4 years federal prison. 6 months solitary confinement. Post-incarceration syndrome. PTSD.
The Framework
Not treatment. Not a 12-step. A daily survival practice built around adventure, accountability, and radical honesty.
The Difference
Recovery programs have finish lines. Battling Monsters doesn't — because PTSD and addiction don't either.

WHO THIS IS FOR

  • People managing PTSD daily — not looking to be "cured," looking to cope
  • Formerly incarcerated individuals navigating reentry with zero real support
  • People in addiction recovery who've been failed by traditional programs
  • Veterans, survivors, and anyone who needs tools — not platitudes
  • Families of people battling addiction and incarceration trauma

The Approach

Daily Management, Not Treatment

Battling Monsters is built on three pillars — the same ones that kept Jamie alive when everything else failed.

🎯
Radical Honesty
No sugarcoating. No manufactured inspiration. The framework starts with telling the truth about where you are — because you can't navigate from a location you won't admit to.
⛰️
Adventure as Medicine
Adventure sports — paragliding, wingsuiting, climbing — aren't hobbies here. They're tools. Pushing physical limits forces the mind to stay present. You can't dissociate when you're jumping off a mountain.
📅
Daily Practice
PTSD and addiction don't take days off. Battling Monsters doesn't either. The framework is built around daily rituals — morning anchors, accountability structures, and the discipline of showing up on what you've got.

"Not a recovery program. A daily management program. Because PTSD doesn't end — so neither does the work."
